Paradise Wildlife Park - September 2011
BEH Branch Visit to Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne – 4th September 2011
Over 50 members and their guests were able to get up close to a variety of animals, ranging from endangered animals such as the tenrec and more familiar ones such as goats, and geckos at the Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne.
The Park is home to over 400 animals, which include small mammals, paddock and farmyard animals, birds, primates, reptiles and big cats. They house Tigers, Tawny Lions, Jaguars, Snow Leopards, Ocelot, Lynx, Clouded Leopard, African Leopard and the rare White Lions. Breeding at Paradise Wildlife Park has been successful, with the breeding of endangered species such as white lions, marmosets, tamarins, Burmese pythons and lovebirds. Many animals are bred as part of the EEP Breeding Programme.
As well as being able to tour the zoo at our own pace, members were treated to entering the wallaby and meerkat enclosures. This was especially enjoyed by the younger members of the group, who were particularly enchanted by the very sociable meerkats.

The day was greatly enjoyed by all attendees, despite the torrential rain in the afternoon, and it is hoped that this will be the first of many visits that a wide range of members and friends will be able to attend.
