James Hayward Bennett MSc

It is with great sadness that we inform members that Jim Bennett died suddenly in July 2011. He worked as a virologist for over 20 years with the Wellcome Foundation, specialising in Yellow Fever, and latterly in Bio-engineering. He was a former member of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Branch and on retiring to Devon became an active committee member and Branch Treasurer for many years. He was the Conservation Officer for Devon Bird Watching and Preservation Society and a volunteer with the National Coastwatch Institution. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm, spirited participation, good humour and friendship.
