 Results of the North Western Branch Schools Quiz 30 July 2010

Congratulations to Fallibroome High School who beat off strong competition to take the coveted first place and a £500-00 microscope for their Biology department.

The top four in the quiz were

1st Fallibroome High School

2nd Lancaster Girls Grammar School

3rd Urmston Grammar School

4th Queen Elizabeth Grammar School

The quiz challenges their best biology students from a number of schools in the area with a test of knowledge and understanding of a variety of practical and theoretical biological topics. The questions reflect the current A level syllabus and allow knowledge and reasoning within the team to be demonstrated in the fun and friendly atmosphere. The venue is UCLAN, Preston which is central to the branch area and has good links with the Society of Biology. It is always well and enthusiastically attended with many teams returning year after year.
