2011 was a busy year for the newly reformed Wessex Branch. The branch successfully held three events all with good turnouts, these were:

• Lecture on Edward Jenner and Smallpox;
• Wilderness and Foraging event; and
• Lecture on Genetic disease in Humans: Diagnosis by DNA Analysis.

We plan to continue our early success with a series of interesting events lined up for 2012! These are (but not limited to):

• Discover Oceanography - 26th May 2012 at the National Oceanography Centre;
• fossil hunting; and
• lectures of a variety of topics.
