We'd like to invite you to join us for a fascinating lecture:-
"The Biochemical Basis for the Health Consequences of Exercise and Inactivity"
being given on the 4th October, 7.30pm by Dr Christopher Shaw, a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, School of Sport & Exercise Sciences.
The lecture will comprise of a comparison of the two extremes of muscle metabolism, obese v. athletes, the
underlying mechanisms responsible and how these adaptations link to the subsequent protection of susceptibility to disease risk factors. How recent exercise studies in obese populations show the benefits of exercise will also be discussed.
