Degree Recognition

Degree Recognition

The recognition of degrees with over 50% biological content is an important part of the our support for interdisciplinary and combined degree programmes.

The primary aims of recognition are to:

  • support the standing of individual courses and departments
  • support students wishing to maintain an interest in biology, and guarantee to potential students that a degree programme can meet the educational requirements for Associate Membership of the Society upon graduation (AMSB) and provide a route to full Membership (MSB) following appropriate professional experience
  • encourage the study of biology and related subjects where they appear throughout the HE sector.

A list of recognised courses is available upon request by contacting the education team.
