It has been widely recognised that practical work in science is vital and that there are a number of high quality resources widely available.

However, some practical work can have limited effect of young people's engagement and learning.

Getting Practical is a programme of professional development for teachers of science at primary, secondary and Post 16 levels and their supporting staff who want to improve the effectiveness of their practical science sessions.
