Before submitting an application please ensure you have reviewed the requirements for each grade of membership, details can be found by clicking Membership Grades on the menu to the left.

To begin your online application please click Start Online Application. The Society of Biology's Council is responsible for electing new members, however our membership team will be able to provide guidance about which grade to apply for and what evidence you will need to include in your application.

Our membership elections take place each quarter on the 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and the 1st October. To ensure your application is considered we must have received it no less than 7 days prior to the election date. Please note that your application may be delayed if we do not receive a response from your references in time for the election.
