Organise a Biology Week event

Biology Week 2013

We would like to thank everyone who organised events for Biology Week 2012 and look forward to working with those who are keen to organise events in Biology Week 2013.

Our branches and Member Organisations are planning events covering many aspects of biology. You don’t have to be a member of the Society of Biology to organise events; we welcome the support of anyone who wants to share their passion for biology.

Events ideas include lectures, debates, school visits, field trips, hands-on demonstrations, and anything which will help people discover more about the wonders of biology. There are ideas and information in our event pack.

Please contact Rebecca Nesbit by email or call 0207 685 2553 if you have any questions or would like to discuss any ideas. Good luck planning your event and when you’re there don’t forget to take photos and have fun!

Promote your event

Once you have planned your event, please fill in this easy form and email it to Rebecca Nesbit who will add it to our website.

You are welcome to use the Biology Week logo to promote your event.

You can help raise the profile of biology within Parliament by inviting your MP. Please get in touch with Rebecca if you would like advice from Dr Stephen Benn, our Director of Parliamentary Affairs.

You can send a press release to your local paper, and download suggestions for contacting the press before or after your event. Remember the press love photos!

Here is a sample poster for you to adapt.
