The meeting will aim to provide an overview of bracken fern in a contemporary biological framework and the format of the event will be lectures, discussions, demonstrations and walking tours. Theoretical and practical issues are to be covered and demonstrations of bracken control equipment will take place. Bracken management systems will be considered.
Event description
The Society of Biology, South Wales is pleased to announce a "Bracken Open Day" in collaboration with The International Bracken Group and UNITED PHOSPHORUS.
The event will be on Saturday 4th September, meeting at Bwlch Village Hall 8 miles East of Brecon on the main A40 road. (Postcode LD3 7HX) A start time of 9.30am is suggested. Admission will be by pre-purchased ticket - members £5, Guests £8. Catering will be provided (as part of the registration fee).
A number of leading professionals are taking part led by Gareth Morgan, who is coordinating the event. Speakers include:
