Event Summary

The evening will consist of an introduction to the work of the Institute and Babraham Bioscience Technologies (BBT) Ltd, the commercial arm of the Institute, which manages Babraham’s Bioincubator where around 30 early-stage biomedical enterprises are based. This will be followed by talks on specific aspects of the Institute’s research work.

Event description

The Babraham Institute is located six miles south-east of Cambridge. They undertake innovative biomedical research to discover the molecular mechanisms that underlie normal cellular processes and functions, and how, over lifetime, their failure or abnormality may lead to disease. The Institute is a registered charity sponsored by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). The research is also supported by the Medical Research Council (MRC), medical charities and other organisations.
