    Professor Georgina Mace CBE FRS is Professor of Conservation Science and director of the NERC Centre for Population Biology at Imperial College London. She was instrumental in developing the IUCN Red List, and has research interests that include assessment of species extinction risk, biodiversity assessment, and the impact of climate change on biodiversity.

    Professor Andy Gescher will present the West Midlands Branch Charter Lecture at University of Birmingham on Wednesday 17th November 2010. This will be titled 'Cancer Prevention - fact or fiction?' The event is going to be in the Haworth Lecture Theatre starting at 7.30 pm. This should be of particular interest to sixth formers and students as it will open eyes and minds to the fascination and complexities of cell biology.
