David Willetts to give evidence to Lords Science Committee
David Willetts MP, Minister of State for Universities and Science at the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, will next week give evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee.
Mr Willetts will be asked about the Government’s position on the role of Science and Technology in securing economic recovery and how they intend to harness scientific advances effectively so that they are translated into benefits for society and the economy.
The Committee will also ask Mr Willetts how the Government will ensure that departmental cuts will not fall disproportionately on research, and whether science and research budgets are to be ring fenced.
The evidence session will take place at 3:20 pm on Tuesday 13 July in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
