WISE Awards 2010
The WISE Annual Awards are given in recognition of companies and individuals who have actively addressed the issue of promoting Science, Engineering and Construction to girls and young women, so supporting the aims of WISE. Each award will be presented by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, the Royal Patron of WISE.
The WISE Excellence Award is an award open to women who are in the early stages of their career, scientists and those working in construction. She must have demonstrated a high level of commitment to herchosen profession and to the promotion of science, engineering and construction to girls and young women. The winner will receive a cheque for £1,000 and an engraved solid silver business card holder.
The WISE Partnership Award gives public recognition to companies who actively address the WISE mission to encourage girls and young women into Science, Engineering and Construction.
The WISE Action Award is to a school or college that has successfully worked to challenge gender stereotypes in study choices and increased the number of girls entering either Physics A-Level or Engineering Diplomas.
The WISE Outreach Award is awarded to a University for successful outreach strategies to attract more young women into Physics and Engineering.
The Primary Engineer WISE Special Leaders Awards challenge female pupils to interview female STEM professionals (Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians) about what first excited them about their subject, and how they harnessed this excitement to further their careers.
Each year the jury has the option of awarding a Special Judges Award to an organisation or company that has exceeded expectations in pursuing the WISE mission.

The deadline for submission of applications is Tuesday 19 October 2010. The Award ceremony will be towards the end of the year at a date to fit the diary of Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, who will present the awards to the successful candidates.Interviews will be held for the Excellence Awards only, in October, in London. All finalists will be invited to the Awards Ceremony.
