Two more funding opportunities – British Academy & TSB
The British Academy invites applications for its postdoctoral fellowships. This scheme is designed to enable outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment, which will develop their curriculum vitae and improve their prospects of obtaining permanent lecturing posts by the end of the fellowship. The awards are designed for research starting between 1 September 2011 and 1 January 2012. The next deadline for submission of Outline applications is 6th October 2010. The Technology Strategy Board announced this month a new funding competition, Metadata: increasing the value of digital content. The Board will invest in up to £5 million in collaborative R & D projects that demonstrate how businesses may increase revenues from the metadata relating to their digital content. Two types of projects will be considered: Fast-track projects and Mainstream Projects. The competition opens on 13th September and closes on 21st October.
