New Laboratory Awards Scheme launched
A new Laboratory Awards scheme has been launched to recognise excellence in laboratory design, operation and management in all sectors, and in laboratory-based teaching and learning within educational institutions, that creates improved performance whilst enhancing safety and sustainability.
The Awards are organised by S-Lab (Safe, Successful and Sustainable Laboratories), an initiative supported by the UK higher education funding bodies to create more sustainable laboratories and based at the University of Bradford.
There are 7 Award categories: New or Refurbished Laboratory; Laboratory Effectiveness; Laboratory Environmental Improvement; Making a Difference (for individuals); Laboratory Equipment and Services; Laboratory-based Teaching and Learning Innovation; and Schools and Colleges.
There is a 2-stage application process, with applications for Stage 1 due in by 29 February 2012. Winners of the Awards will be announced at the S-Lab conference, York, 12-13 June 2012.
