Defra publishes an Evidence Investment Strategy
Released on 02 February 2010
Defra's Evidence Investment Strategy was published on 26 January. It provides guidance to Defra on gathering and using evidence effectively for policy making and evaluating the outcomes. It identifies three big evidence challenges: climate change, a sustainable food supply and protecting ecosystem services.
Defra proposes “a modest reorientation of priorities from such areas as animal welfare and pesticides towards areas such as water, biodiversity, soils and climate change”.
