Science Communication Awards 2010

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Nominations are requested for the Science Communication Awards 2010, which recognise bioscience researchers from UK universities and institutes who make an outstanding and consistent contribution to communicating science to the public.

There are two categories of Award:

  • New Researcher: for bioscience researchers currently reading for a Masters or PhD, or in the first year of a post-doctoral position.
    Prize: £750
  • Established Researcher: for bioscience researchers who are beyond the first stages of their research career, as defined in the above category.
    Prize: £1500

Nomination of researchers working in any sector of the biosciences, from UK universities or institutes, must be supported either by a member of the Society of Biology or one of its Member Organisations. 

The nominator shall make the case for the nominee on a Nomination Form

Award Event

Awards will be made at an event on the 3rd November 2010, in central London.  Winners will be expected to give a short presentation, and will also be invited to create a poster or display of their work.  Each winner will also be invited to participate in up to two additional lectures or events in the year following.  Prizes for the Society’s Photographic Competition will also be awarded on the 3rd November.
