Professional Development

Professional Development is essential for today's biologists 

We encourage our members to partake in our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme. This is an important part of progression through the membership grades to Chartered Biologist Status. Our own CPD events are useful in maintaining and developing professional expertise. We also work in conjunction with the Open University to deliver on-line training which provides flexibility for members who find it difficult to attend courses during the day. 

We run an approval scheme for courses or events for CPD and work in association with many organisations to provide and support CPD suitable for our members. 

We administer a register of Qualified Persons in the pharmaceutical industry, the UK Register of Toxicologists and we award the International Diploma in Toxicology, the examination for which will be held this year on Wednesday 23rd June.
