Student membership
This is an extremely useful opportunity for all post-16 secondary and university students. As a biology student it is important that you keep well informed about the latest advances in your subject. Student Membership also entitles you to discounts on life science books from many of the UK’s leading academic publishers to help you with your studies.
Biological Student Competitions
The Society of Biology runs competitions for secondary school pupils including the British Biology Olympiad and Biology Challenge. These not only test your knowledge of biology but allow you to gain awards to show your achievements. (The highest scorers in the British Biology Olympiad get the opportunity to travel abroad and represent the UK in the International Biology Olympiad).
Member Organisations also run competitions designed for university students (undergraduate and postgraduate).
